You can find a new link just under the Subject entry box that says Insert: Invitation.
Click the link and a new pop-up box will prompt you to choose these options shown below for your invitation.
The options are just a resemblance of a business greeting card, but with a little digital sweetenings. You input What kind of event is it, Where and When will it take place, and a Description of the event. Your list of invitees is simply the people you add to the To, CC and BCC fields of your email.
The new improvement here is the choice of calendar. If you have several Google calendars, you can choose between them to display your event. As people answer your invitation, the event will appear in their calendars.
Click the Insert Invitation button and your invitation will then appear at the top of your email box. You can add more details to your email before sending it. Notice the invitation shows the recipient that is invited—so, if your in-laws do not play nice with each other and you invite them both, expects an awkward response.
As people accept and decline your invitation, you will receive emails showing their decision.
In your calendar, the event scheduled will appear in maroon-red colors.
And if you decide to reschedule later the time or date of your event, you can do so from here. Google Calendar will automatically notify your invitees of the change.
This invitation tool is a great Gmail addition for the social butterflies among us. Inviting your friends over for an all-night custom party has never been this less complicated. Finding the best custome party ideas and supplies to keep the event lively is another story, but with these recent Gmail advances, there will probably be a solution for even that problem before long.
