I got this Mozilla FireFox SpeedUp Tips from ElectronicsLab.ph. Well, thanks to my friends out there for sharing this because it really really works for me! The following steps will speed up your Firefox significantly, but will mainly work for broadband users only. To achieve this speed increase you need to alter certain settings of Firefox to speed up page requests and the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives. To edit these preferences you need to open the configuration page of Firefox by typing the following into the address bar:about:config This will bring up a long list of Preferences.
Don't worry of this warning that may appear when you type in the code. You can proceed smoothly.
1. Look for the following entries: You can filter them by typing:
network.http.pnetwork.http.pipelining
network.http. proxy.pipelining
network.http. pipelining. maxrequests
Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.
2. Alter the entries as follows by double-clicking on them:
Set "network.http. pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http. proxy.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http. pipelining. maxrequests" to some number like 30.
This means will make 30 requests at once.
3. Lastly right-click anywhere on the page and select "New Integer". Name it
"nglayout.initialpai nt.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount
of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.
4. Restart.
If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages 2-30 times faster now.
If it doesn't work then you should go here for a precise and detailed informations on how to speed-up firefox browsers.
