Ipod I/O error
Since last week I'm having a problem in finding a way to reset my 1st generation iPod Shuffle. It was so hassle that I have to go in an Authorized Apple Store so I can asked how to reset this damn thing. The problem was I experienced an I/O error when I plug-in the iPod to my USB Port. So I can't even access the external drive of the iPod.
So I asked some guys about it, they said that this is the point that I should throw it. There is no hope on it.
In the store, a guy told me that they can fixed it using their software. I asked him if it's publicly available, he nodded and said it's only for the authorized reseller like them. I doubt on what he said and decline the fixing of my iPod because the service charge was too expensive and unreasonable.
I searched the internet and fortunately, I was able to find the remedy. The guy in the store was a LIAR indeed or maybe he never knew the software was actually available and downloadable for public use. "IpodShuffleResetUtilitySetup.exe" was the answer.
Use the iPod shuffle Reset Utility to fix the following issues:
The program was only 2.2MB in size. So easy to download and hassle-free to used. Just plug the iPod to a USB port. Press the reset button. Wait for it to finish the resetting process. When it's done. Open iTunes and sync the iPod. Done!
* With the iPod shuffle switched on, pressing the Play button will cause orange (amber) and green LEDs to flash for a few seconds, and the unit will not play any music, nor can you sync music to it from iTunes.
* On a Windows PC, iPod shuffle will appear in My Computer as a "Removable Disk," however the iPod shuffle volume will not mount correctly. The unit is listed in Device Manager under "Disk Drives" as "Apple iPod USB Device."
* When attempting to restore, the unit may not be recognized at all. However, if it is recognized, the restore may fail with an error dialog "Firmware update failure. Disk write error" or another error. It may take 3 restore attempts before the error appears. Note: iPod shuffle may take several minutes to be recognized.
So, it saves me money and time, best of all, I learned now how to reset an iPod to its factory settings ALL BY MYSELF.
Note: The software is only for iPod Shuffle (1st Generation Type) and if you want a copy. I can send you one thru email.
